Michael Austin Cera (/ˈsɛrə/ SERR-ə; Italia: [ˈtʃeːra]; lahir 7 Juni 1988)[1] adalah aktor asal Kanada. Dikenal karena memerankan karakter yang canggung, pemalu, dan tidak biasa, perannya yang paling dikenal termasuk Evan di Superbad dan Scott Pilgrim di Scott Pilgrim vs. the World
Dia memiliki banyak peran dalam produksi televisi dan film Amerika Serikat, dan dikenal karena memainkan karakter Paulie Bleeker di Juno (2007), versi fiksi dirinya dalam This Is the End (2013), dan Allan dalam Barbie (2023). Awal kehidupan
[sunting | sunting sumber]Cera lahir pada tanggal 7 Juni 1988 di Brampton, Ontario. Dia adalah putra dari Linda (née Cockman) dan Luigi Cera, seorang teknisi. Dia keturunan Sisilia melalui ayahnya.[2] Kedua orang tuanya bekerja untuk Xerox.[3] Cera memiliki seorang kakak perempuan, Jordan, dan seorang adik perempuan, Molly. Ia menjadi tertarik pada akting setelah menonton Ghostbusters berulang kali saat sakit cacar air pada usia tiga tahun.[4] Cera menghafal semua dialog dan mengidolakan Bill Murray.[5] Dia mendaftar di The Second City, Toronto, dan mengambil kelas improvisasi.[5]
Cera bersekolah di Conestoga Public School, Robert H. Lagerquist Senior Public School dan Heart Lake Secondary School hingga kelas sembilan. Setelah mulai berakting, ia menyelesaikan sekolah online hingga kelas 12.[6][7]
Kehidupan pribadi
[sunting | sunting sumber]Cera sangat tertutup tentang kehidupan pribadinya.[8] Pada tahun 2016, Aubrey Plaza mengumumkan bahwa mereka sempat berkencan selama sekitar 18 bulan setelah syuting Scott Pilgrim vs. the World pada tahun 2010 dan mempertimbangkan untuk menikah. Keduanya tetap berteman.[9]
Pada Maret 2022, Amy Schumer secara tidak sengaja mengungkapkan bahwa Cera adalah seorang ayah.[8] Belakangan pada bulan itu, dia mengungkapkan kepada Extra bahwa bayi tersebut adalah seorang anak laki-laki berusia enam bulan bersama istrinya Nadine.[10] Pada Agustus 2023, Cera tinggal di New York City.[11][12]
